Location & Google Maps Help

This page will show you how to get your Google Maps link and Plus Code, and how to use them inside AdventStayBnB™ so guests can easily find your home.

1️⃣ How to Get Your Google Maps Link

If your house or property appears on Google Maps, you can share it with guests using a simple link.

On a smartphone (Android / iPhone)

Open the Google Maps app.
Search for your place by name or address. If your home is not listed, press and hold on the map where your house is.
A red pin will appear. Tap the place name or address at the bottom.
Tap Share.
Choose Copy link.

On a computer (laptop / desktop)

Open Google Maps in your browser.
Search for your place, or right-click on the map at your house location and choose What’s here?.
Click on the place name or coordinates that appear at the bottom.
Click the Share button.
Click Copy link.

Now you have a link like https://maps.app.goo.gl/……. Save it somewhere safe. You will paste this link in your listing under the Location / Google Maps field.

2️⃣ How to Get Your Plus Code

A Plus Code is like a digital address for places that do not have a clear street name or house number. It looks like this: HPG3+8C5, Arusha, Tanzania.

Steps to find your Plus Code

Open Google Maps on your phone or computer.
Press and hold (or right-click on computer) exactly where your house is on the map.
A red pin will appear.
Look for a code like HPG3+8C5 at the top or bottom of the screen.
Tap or click that code and choose Copy.

This Plus Code can be pasted as your Address in your listing. Guests can copy it into their own Google Maps app to find your home easily.

3️⃣ Where to Paste This in AdventStayBnB™

When you are adding or editing your property on AdventStayBnB™ (on the Add Listing page):

In the Address field, you can paste your full address or your Plus Code.
If there is a field for Google Maps link or similar, paste the link you copied from Google Maps.
Check the small map (if displayed) to see that the pin is in the correct place.

Important: Make sure the pin shows the actual location of your property. If guests arrive and cannot find the place, they may cancel or leave a poor review.

4️⃣ How Guests Will Use Your Location

On your listing page, guests will see your address and often a map link. They can click it to open Google Maps and start navigation:

On phone: it opens directly in the Google Maps app, ready for directions.
On computer: it opens Google Maps in the browser, and they can choose “Directions”.

You can also send your Plus Code or Google Maps link to the guest by WhatsApp as a backup.

5️⃣ Common Problems & Simple Solutions

“The map pin is far from my house.”
Try again: press and hold more accurately on your house, then copy the new Plus Code or link.
“My area has no street names.”
Use the Plus Code. That is exactly why it exists.
“Guest still cannot find me.”
Share your Plus Code and a photo of your gate or a famous nearby landmark (school, church, petrol station, etc.).
